Video of the Week: Scary Lime Rock Crash

I hope my parents aren't watching because here is a rather unpleasant crash at Lime Rock Park featuring the exact same number 34 car that      I drove earlier that season in racing school!  Crazy!

Thankfully everyone was all right, demonstrating the safety of the circuit and of the Skip Barber Formula Cars.  Enjoy the carnage from multiple views!

Snowpocalypse leads to automotive carnage in Pittsburgh

As a follow-up to our Brooklyn Snowplow footage, enjoy this video which illustrates Newtonian laws very clearly in action!

I found the above video eerily reminiscent of this vehicular mess that occured a few years back in Portland, OR under similarly icy conditions.

Again, thankful the Alfa is safely ensconced in its garage for the winter!

Snowpocalypse leads to automotive carnage in Brooklyn

The heavy snowfall in New York City has actually proved too much even for some of the city's finest snow-clearing equipment. Watch as a massive front-loader flails around like a wounded lobster, causing severe damage to a luckless Brooklyn resident's SUV this morning.  I think the incompetent tow truck and front-loader operators might have done well to just dig the damn thing out by shovel!  I feel bad for the owner (though he/she will no doubt be compensated by the city) but the video is pretty hilarious, and we can mark one more SUV off the road! (Warning: salty language and mechanical brutality)

Friday goofiness: George Lucas feels the Force

I can't stop watching this. The Toyota Celebrity race in Long Beach is always a total clown fest, but I just love this 2007 clip of George Lucas making the most overzealous dive-bomb passing maneuver more like something a 15 year old Alex Zanardi wannabe would try on his Playstation. Naturally, the result: Game Over. The secondary head-on crumple is of course the icing on the cake.

Enjoy the videos! The second clip shows the in-car view. The third clip shows George projecting his unflappable cool and calm before the race. "I'm just here for the fun. I'm not tryin' to win. I just want to have a good time." Ahh, the Red Mist can cloud even the best laid plans, eh George?
