Video of the Week: How to drive the pants off a GTV6
Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 9:37PM
This video says it all about why the GTV6 is just such a great car. The sound, the handling, the value. It's just one of the best V6 coupes of all time. He's just eating Miatas for lunch here.

tremendous video! guy is driving like a BAWSE.
I'll probably end up buying a tatty one, so it'll need a respray. Any idea for colours other than the classic red and black twotone? Also, how does it compare enjoyment-wise to the Dino?
5 to 6K will get you a very very nice one. Don't waste your money on a tatty one when good ones come so cheap. It will save you lots in the 2-5 year ownership window and you will thank me! Respraying a GTV6 is a waste of money at this point. Though I plan to repaint mine next year just because I love it so much. The most important thing to look for is rust.
On a twisting back road, it gives me more smiles and thrills than the GT4 does. It of course lacks the style and the specialness of driving a Ferrari, but the Alfa is one of the best bargain performance cars available. Possibly THE best car for the money in the world right now.
The best colors for the GTV6 are black, and Anthracite Gray. If I were to buy another one it would be in one of those two colors. Blue is also great but very rare.
As someone who's into classic cars, I think I may not be able to wrap my head around the concept of 'a waste of money', although I'd definitely prefer a nice example. A blue one would be fantastic, but I've seen a good number of very nice anthracite examples sell over the past few years. It'd also be nice not to have to restore something before driving it.
Definitely going to have to get something special along with it. Hopefully a Giulietta Spider, but that's on the high-end of the price range. The Spitfire's special, but not in the same way.
I know the owner of this car. AFAIK it's got a 75/Milano 3-litre installed, with revised rev-limiter, and some bigger cams, a TS 'box, and then just the normal suspension work you'd do to a track GTV6. Fast car, very fast and experienced driver.
I'll post a link to this at our club website, so the owner may come on and describe it in more detail.
