Montreal FIAT

Even in its semi-ragged state, the clean Tom Tjaarda-penned lines of the FIAT 124 are really classic. In later years they seem to be victims of their former popularity. Too cheap to maintain properly, too common to restore.  But in fairness, it's really great design to look upon.

This amateur video is surprisingly well done, and features some really cool sounds and camera angles. If only the driver would quit it with all the unnecessary short shifts and let the car have its head! Enjoy that sonorous small displacement V8, and Gandini-penned sheet metal!

Say what you will about the reliability of Italian fuel injection. I just think the plaque on the Montreal engine is pretty darn sweet.
