Highlights from Goodwood - Exclusive Photo Set!

Our intrepid man in the UK, Davide de Giorgi was kind enough to selflessly attend the Goodwood Festival of Speed on our behalf, so that those of us on this side of the pond could enjoy some captivating imagery of the event.  Davide has a huge flickr stream of photos from Goodwood, but we've chosen our 50 favorite photos for our gallery here on Automobiliac.  Click any picture below for the full gallery.  Does anyone out there know the history of this spectacular 250TR hardtop coupe below?  The streamlined roof does not seem like something Enzo would have done, so the question is: "Who did it?" A quick google search did not yield an easy answer.

All photos copyright Davide de Giorgi and used with permission.

Stray Jag Moment of Zen

Spotted this sad scene in Long Island over the weekend.  Talk about an alley cat in need of a good home...

Slippery Listers

Cool period photos of the Frank Costin-designed Lister Jaguars. Costin was, aside from Jaguar's Malcolm Sayer, the premier designer of aerodynamic racing car bodies in Britain at the time, penning the famous Vanwall GP cars as well as many early Lotus models.

Bertone's B99 GT5: Jaguar XJ12C Reborn!

I really loved the overall look and feel of Bertone's B99 Jaguar coupe concept at Geneva. I think it captured the Jaguar ethos better than the marque's current offerings.  But I must confess I loved the outlandish racing version of the car even more than the "production" version of the concept. The aggressive haunches and proportions instantly recall the Broadspeed XJ12C racing car campaigned by British Leyland in the 70s, and the wild spoilers and diffusers bring to mind some of the crazy Japanese Silhouette racers from the 80s.  Sure, it's a bit wacky, but after the trauma of the Alfa 4C, the Saab PhoeniX and the BMW Concept, it was a nice salve for my eyes. Check out these awesome renderings released by Bertone!
