Highlights from Goodwood - Exclusive Photo Set!
Sunday, July 24, 2011 at 12:49PM Our intrepid man in the UK, Davide de Giorgi was kind enough to selflessly attend the Goodwood Festival of Speed on our behalf, so that those of us on this side of the pond could enjoy some captivating imagery of the event. Davide has a huge flickr stream of photos from Goodwood, but we've chosen our 50 favorite photos for our gallery here on Automobiliac. Click any picture below for the full gallery. Does anyone out there know the history of this spectacular 250TR hardtop coupe below? The streamlined roof does not seem like something Enzo would have done, so the question is: "Who did it?" A quick google search did not yield an easy answer.

I don't know about this TR, but alot of 1950's race Ferrari's were converted into coupes during the 1960's when they were not worth much and were almost useless old racecars that cost a small fortune to rebuild. Many also had American V8 engines installed. By the way, I saw 2 Type 57's up in Highland Park, Illinois yesterday.

Good point. I did read about one 250TR that was converted by Drago into a 250 GTO-like coupe.
I'm also seeing something Drogo here.
I was smitten by this car for good 20 minutes when a professional photographer with "press" badge joined me. He looked at me with the eyes of someone who knew better so I told him "what the hell is it?"
He smiled as if talking to a little child and told me "it's a Ferrari!"...
I froze...
An old man came to help with his knowledge "it's a 250 TR!"...
The only thing that came to my mouth was "yeah I know but... thanks guys... you've been good help".

It could be, and if this is the case... well done to him. It sure looks appropriate.
I can't find anything similar in the ferrari history books.
What has that sexy drilled arch vent over its left front wheel? It's the photo to the right of the Chaparral 2J. It's deeply appealing!

It's not a Drogo design. Drogo usually completely re-worked the cars, he never kept the original design. It must've been the work of the person who commissioned the replica.
