James Hunt: The Real Deal

Reader Comments (3)

If the movie is primarily concerned with the 1976 F1 competition, it probably won't say much about the sordid circumstances surrounding Hunt's divorce from his wife, model Susan Shaw, who later married Richard Burton.

I think of Hunt (and maybe Lauda) as among the last drivers who didn't have to be media-savvy and wouldn't stand for media training. Maybe Mansell and Raikkonen in the modern era, although they dealt with the problem by just clamming up. Compare, for example, with Damon Hill or Michael Schumacher. Alonso is about the only current driver who says interesting things in interviews.

Don't forget Jacques Villeneuve. He was a straight talker. I loved him.
