Screamin' Chicken Moment of Zen

The 1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am was never one of my favorite cars. But on that rainy day it looked ohhh so right. I think one of the things about the Trans Am is that most examples you see are worn and crappy looking. But this one is like showroom condition and the gold-over-black accents really snap! The license plate tops it all off like bacon on a peanut butter and banana sandwich.

The original 1970-1972 Trans Am's look very nice and are fast(faster than 99% of the Euro sportscars from the same period). Safety bumpers and cat. converters killed the car. By the way, the USA was the leader in both safety and clean burning engine equipment. That helped kill off alot of great sportscars along with the fuel crisis of the 1970's. My sister had Formula Firebird in the early 1980's when I was a kid. I remember breaking her 8 track tape player.

That's an eagle not a chicken:)

The eagle's unofficial nickname is the Screaming Chicken though...
