St. Mark's Caddy

The evening light was just perfect on that long, sculpted bodyside.Spotted on St. Mark's Place in the East Village.

My parents had one, same year -- convertible, gold rather than bronze. It was like a boat. Nice enough on a long ride, but it sure looks absurd now.

I could never understand why Cadillac wheel openings were always squarish until the Seville came along. A lot of ugly undercarriage and even suspension bits were, counterintuitively for a luxury car, plainly visible. What was that about?

I think it was about a lack of communication or integration between the stylists and engineers at GM in that era!
Still, I think the car is very cool and has wonderful presence.

absolutely right about the way the light catches on this car - the bright reflection along the side and from above the fin remind me of the two-tone paint on late '30s Bugattis: http://ultimatecarpage.com/pic/1022/Bugatti-Type-57-SC-Atalante-Coupe_4.html
