I said it before and I'll say it again...

...The new Alfa 8C is way too bloated and stubby to hold a candle to any classic Alfa. I think this photo says it all, if I didn't already convince you. I'll take the one on the left, grazie.

I've heard this photo's been photoshopped, but yes, modern cars, in general, are too "fat", but that's what you have to pay for comfort and security.
Old cars FTW!
I saw that comment too, but in my professional opinion, I have no reason to believe this is photoshopped. I can also say i have seen these two cars together in person, and the Stradale is about waist height.
See my problem was I didn't really give much thought to Alfa until the 8C came out - so to me, that's a gorgeous car. However, I see your point that when you compare it to a true classic - it's a big, fat pig by comparison.
I'm still disappointed cars like the 159 aren't sold here. I think it's probably the cleanest, prettiest design in it's segment right now.
Thats what I said when you stretched the 8C with photoshop a few months ago. The above photo is accurate, the new 8C is big. Its even is taller than the Maserati Gran Turismo I saw it sitting next to it at the dealer. Must be the SUV mentality!! You can't even find 15 inch wheels anymore.

Murph,
I agree completely. The 8C is exciting in an abstract sense, but honestly the 159 is a masterpiece of proportion and design, whereas the 8C is really nothing special despite being fast and expensive. If they had made it an affordable mid-range coupe like the 350Z, then I would give it another thought, but for 250K or whatever they are asking for these, you got to bring something drop dead insanely gorgeous to the table. Next to a Lamborghini, Aston, or Ferrari, the 8C looks pudgy, and even the Maserati Gran Turismo (that it shares a platform with) is sexier in person, but also oversized.
