Tuesday Afternoon Mystery Car

A Propos of Kanye's Tatra from yesterday, can anyone name this equally obscure and equally small volume early 90s supercar? Two hints: It's not a modded Diablo. It's not a cheap car with a body kit.

Mike is correct! It is the Cizeta-Moroder V16T. It was in fact designed by Marcello Gandini, and you can clearly see the basis for the lines of his Diablo. Only between 8 to 10 cars were ever produced, and supposedly 2 of them are in the garage of the Sultan of Brunei. The most bizarre technical aspect of the car was its transverse mounted V16 engine! I think this car is about the only one next to which the Diablo looks tasteful in comparison...

There was one of these in the US a while back if I read correctly. If I recall the owner never got it EPA certified so it was impounded.

Correct. The g-men came and seized it, as they have been cracking down on gray market cars. Complete unmitigated BS.
