The Automobiliac's GTV6 on Petrolicious

So it may now be obvious given these two posts in a row, but the kind folks at Petrolicious visited NYC a few months back to do some shooting, so expect to see a lot of familiar cars and faces on that site very soon! Today, they posted an awesome series of photos that Josh Clason took of my very own GTV6 on the streets of DUMBO, Brooklyn. Click over for the full set and an excellent article!

Alfa Import Center is back in Action!

Yesterday was a very nice event celebrating the official return to NYC of our beloved Alfa mechanic Giuseppe Lo Re and his shop the Alfa Import Center, after a hiatus in North Carolina and a period of time searching for the right spot to be in. He's the only man to go to in the 5 boroughs for anything Alfa.

Video of the Week: Fangio in a Pirelli Commercial

This film--i am thinking probably shown in movie theaters before the main attraction--is from c. 1966, showing el maestro lapping Monza in his 1951 Alfetta 159. Some wonderful sounds and footage.  Gotta love his shiny leather driving shoes when he steps out of the monoposto at the end!

Villa D'Este Dream

Imagine you are sitting on the deck of the fabulous Villa D'Este, overlooking Lago di Como. It's an overcast morning. You are enjoying your coffee, waiting for the sun to come out. You hear the crunching of gravel under tire, and turn to see a breathtaking Alfa 6C 2500 motoring slowly past to park by the lake. Then another identical car pulls beside the first one. Then another.  Soon, you are looking at 5 glorious Villa D'Este Alfa Romeos parked neatly at the place where they were first shown to the public in 1952.  Only 36 of these cars were made by Carozzeria Touring, and 5 of them are in front of you, as if they showed up just for you to photograph them.  Sounds like a dream, right?  Yet this actually happened to our friend Ben Clymer, who runs the well regarded watch site Hodinkee. He was kind enough to share these gorgeous photos of that special moment. Full gallery HERE.

Rollin on Ronals

I felt it was time to lavish a little attention on the GTV6. These new phone dial rims do the trick. Plus they are spaced out a little bit for an even better stance. Now to sort that fender rub at full lock...
