Specimen in the wild: Prius Sanctimonius

This made my stomach turn during a recent trip to the Dia:Beacon.

Worst thing about it is that from my understanding these things aren't even greener at this point, after you figure in the manufacture and disposal of the batteries, heavier tires, higher tire wear etc.

I'm sure I read somewhere on the 'net, the carbon footprint of a Prius is larger than a Hummer. I'm sure this was grossly exagerated, but it still makes sense to me that these cars use more natural resources to build than an average car. Whatever; I'll stick with my 22 year old Alfa.

The plate might be misleading, but it's still amusing. Another good catch by the Automobiliac.
