Heuer Racing Chronographs under the gavel at Bonhams

Today in London, Bonhams will be auctioning off a remarkable array of vintage (Pre-TAG) Heuer watches collected over many years by Arno Haslinger, who literally "wrote the book" when it comes to collecting these fine Swiss timepieces.  Inextricably linked with motor racing, Heuers are, for me, the coolest vintage watches you could wish for.  Enjoy this video of Mr. Haslinger talking about his 4 favorite watches from his extensive collection.

For my money, I'll still take a vintage Monza!

I really like that Monaco! Big fan of the "modernized" ones like the Monaco 69.

The Silverstone is an interesting design as well.

If you like the Silverstone, TAG Heuer made a fairly faithful re-issue of it recently. But it costs about as much as an original, so why not buy a real one?

wow - they are pricey for tags! At the range the new ones are selling in I would take a mint original or just pick up a lightly worn Monaco 69.

I have an Aquaracer I bought nearly 5 years ago that's running strong - excellent watches!

I would definitely prefer an original to the lame TAG re-makes. How many more special edition Monaco watches can they make?

Haha, I like the original remake they had - then they spun it off into brown and snake leather watches, gold watches, and the tacky "Gulf" watch. I actually prefer the standard black watch face with a black band.
